Gods Playing in the Clouds, One-Day Workshop [January 3, 2010]
Gods playing in the Clouds is one of the oldest, most powerful chi gung sets available to us in the living energy arts tradition. This workshop teaches the six movements of the basic Gods set as a jumping off point for continuing study in our ongoing Level II, III, and IV classes and practice sessions.
If you are new to BTC, this is a great way to get started.
If you regularly practice tai chi or other forms of chi gung, especially Dragon & Tiger, you can benefit a lot by adding Gods “cross training” to your routine.
For tai chi practitioners: The Gods movements are designed to develop your “inner form” in the same way as tai chi but this focus is easier without so many postures and challenges to your balance. In Bruce Frantzis’ “Inner Form as the Key to Health” (a ‘90s article), it is said that tai chi practitioners must pay attention to as many as 30-40 internal components—from breathing to lengthening, wrapping, pulsing, dissolving. A good way to get maximum benefit from this practice—try Gods.
For Dragon & Tiger practitioners: Adding to the energy work you practice in Dragon & Tiger, which regulates the flow of energy through acupuncture pathways, the skills you learn in Gods will let you move more energy, more cleanly, through your system. Deeper tissue twisting, closing and opening of joints, and pushing and pulling of chi through your body will increase your feel for the different circulation patterns in the body and supercharge your practice.
We do not currently teach this material in a regular weekly format. Don’t miss this opportunity to start.
