Senior Instructor Review of Gods Playing in the Clouds [Nov 14 & 15, 2009]

Or "Why Florida is not on the way to California"

Last month we talked about why studying with a master is like jumping off a cliff. In that post, I was trying to remind you that all the cool new insights you had while doing the Gods Playing in the Clouds workshop with Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis were previews of what was to come if you put in the work to get there. The problem is, when you are going through the developmental process, it's hard to tell whether you are headed in the right direction.

To put it another way, it is as if Bruce came to the school and showed you some great pictures of the California coast. He told you what it felt like to sit on the beach, what the redwoods smell like, and even some of his favorite places to visit up and down the state. He left some pretty detailed maps of how to get there too, but you might still have been thinking about the ocean and the trees, so maybe you missed some of that.

Now, here we are a couple of weeks later in Boston and you're still thinking about California, you can still feel what it was like to be there, although it's becoming a little more of a memory and a little less tangible each week.

So you want to head out on a road trip and get back there, right? You pack up, jump in the car, and head south with the parking brake on. You think you'll make it to California any time soon?

That's why you need someone with long-range experience (think decades here, not years) to keep you heading in the right direction. If Bruce showed you where you could be going in the future, a Senior Instructor like Eric Peters can show you where you need to be right now if you want to get there eventually.

You see, Bruce was laying out a very detailed road-map of how to work your way down the chi gung highway, but the first time you hear it, you might miss a few turns or run out of gas once or twice. Having a Senior Instructor on board, part navigator, part mechanic, will help you take the right steps at the right time to get where you want to go.
