TAO Yoga Drop-In-- Late Fall 2007
New Tao yoga instructor Katie Keane stresses the simplicity of most of the postures that will be taught in BTC’s latest curriculum addition, following the B.K. Frantzis Tao yoga workshop in October—the first time he has agreed to teach the subject. “This doesn’t require an advanced level of flexibility,” she says, or previous experience with Hatha or other forms of yoga.
Classes are open to yoga practitioners looking to add more depth to their practice, BTC energy arts students, and complete newcomers. This gentle yoga from ancient China emphasizes internal awareness of energy movement rather than external stretch. Connecting the breath to the body—including internal organs—allows for internal release, which in turn leads to a greater release of the whole body; the small changes the big. Students at last summer’s training reported that they were amazed to find they experienced a minor workout inside from what seemed like so little going on outside.
