Tai Chi and Ba Gua as Moving Meditation [June 19-23, 2010]
While Tai Chi and Ba Gua are known as physical practices that balance the body, increase vitality, and can be used as martial arts, their practice as Taoist meditation arts is rarely taught.
Thus Brookline Tai Chi is excited and honored to host Taoist lineage holder Bruce Frantzis for five days of moving meditation instruction. In these five days, Frantzis will teach you ways of practicing tai chi and bagua that you can use whether you wish to reduce stress, find greater peace of mind, or gain spiritual clarity/stillness.

New Classes for Late Spring 2010
"I don’t always want new information,” says a long-time student. ”Sometimes I just need a place to practice and some guidance in getting all this in my body.”
The comment shines a light on how BTC’s core tai chi and chi gung programs are developing. Our latest reconfiguring of classes balances teaching the fundamentals with helping students integrate what they are learning and cultivate their own practice.

Moving can be an easier way to access meditation than sitting or standing, says Energy Arts senior instructor Craig Barnes. “The mind has something to connect with—keeping movement going physically—so it can relax and go deeper instead of getting distracted.”
