Breathing in Tai Chi and Chi Gung
In this office hours clip, BTC Instructors Dan Kleiman and Nate Hribar discuss different ways to approach integrating breathing into Tai Chi and chi gung.
Initially, Nate asked about some specific places in his Tai Chi and qigong practice where it is challenging to maintain smooth, continuous breathing. Drawing on his yoga background, he was asking if there is a similar emphasis on driving movement from breath in Tai Chi.
Watch this clip for a complete answer.

Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Care Workshop with Derek Notman [December 11, 2011]
This workshop will not meet on Sunday, December 11. Please look for future JSJ events at BTC>
Derek Notman, who will be teaching a December 11 workshop on the form of energy work that he calls “the grandmother of acupuncture,” relies on a lot of metaphors to describe how jin shin jyutsu works. “There is an intelligence in us beyond the part of the mind that people usually identify with,” Derek says. “It’s just as much us.”
