Dragon and Tiger Level 2 Gets a Boost of Energy
This fall, Dragon and Tiger gets an big boost of new energy. Instructors Marie-Helene Jouvin and Susan Sternick have been working closely together to refocus the level 2 series, through advanced training with Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis and BTC founder Bill Ryan.
Energy Gates Standing Chi Gung
The Energy Gates three-course series starting up this fall—the first time since fall ‘08—is for students seeking a level of practice that devotes 20-40 minutes of each hour and a half class to standing. This is one of the most important practices you can cultivate as a foundation for more advanced tai chi and chi gung. Since the course is offered cyclically and occasionally, it is a chance for newcomers to develop this primary skill and for veterans to revisit the material at a deeper level. You must start with Part 1 in September.
Mini-Topics: Breath, Eyes, and Chi
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 14, 15, and 16: 7-9pm each night
These short takes on particular topics offer a surprising range of techniques for you to break the cycle of stress before it gathers steam. Take sessions separately or combine. Both newcomers and veteran practitioners welcome.

How It Works
New Classes for Late Spring 2010
"I don’t always want new information,” says a long-time student. ”Sometimes I just need a place to practice and some guidance in getting all this in my body.”
The comment shines a light on how BTC’s core tai chi and chi gung programs are developing. Our latest reconfiguring of classes balances teaching the fundamentals with helping students integrate what they are learning and cultivate their own practice.

Winter Hand Warmers
Here's a great list of "Hand Warmers" for cold winter days, compiled by our instructor Ruth Schechter.
- Invisible Finger Circles (with thanks to Kathleen Ahern)
With hands relaxed and down at your sides, let your mind rest in your thumbs. Then gently make tiny circles with your thumbs, first one way, then the other. It doesn’t matter if your movement is imperceptible—make the circles with your mind. Then move on to index fingers, middle fingers, ring fingers, and pinkies.
Senior Instructor Review of Gods Playing in the Clouds [Nov 14 & 15, 2009]
Or "Why Florida is not on the way to California"
Last month we talked about why studying with a master is like jumping off a cliff. In that post, I was trying to remind you that all the cool new insights you had while doing the Gods Playing in the Clouds workshop with Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis were previews of what was to come if you put in the work to get there. The problem is, when you are going through the developmental process, it's hard to tell whether you are headed in the right direction.
