New For Summer: Gods Playing in the Clouds Chi Gung with Dan Kleiman
This summer, we will again be offering Gods Playing in the Clouds Chi Gung. Many of you have studied Gods in the past and this is a chance to revisit the unique nei gung components emphasized in Gods. If that last sentence made no sense, read on (and be sure to see our special offer at the end of the post).
Gods is a standard part of the rotation of our chi gung courses at Brookline Tai Chi. If you are studying tai chi, you should learn it at some point as a warm-up. If you are currently rotating through Heaven and Earth, you should learn it to go deeper into your chi gung practice.
Ligament Spring in Gods Playing in the Clouds [November 20-21]
"After reviewing existing scientific evidence for its potential health benefits, I’ve concluded that the proper question to ask yourself may not be why you should practice tai chi, but why not,” New York Times columnist Jane Brody wrote recently.
New Classes for Late Spring 2010
"I don’t always want new information,” says a long-time student. ”Sometimes I just need a place to practice and some guidance in getting all this in my body.”
The comment shines a light on how BTC’s core tai chi and chi gung programs are developing. Our latest reconfiguring of classes balances teaching the fundamentals with helping students integrate what they are learning and cultivate their own practice.
Senior Instructor Review of Gods Playing in the Clouds [Nov 14 & 15, 2009]
Or "Why Florida is not on the way to California"
Last month we talked about why studying with a master is like jumping off a cliff. In that post, I was trying to remind you that all the cool new insights you had while doing the Gods Playing in the Clouds workshop with Lineage Master Bruce Frantzis were previews of what was to come if you put in the work to get there. The problem is, when you are going through the developmental process, it's hard to tell whether you are headed in the right direction.
Why Studying with a Master Is Like Jumping off a Cliff
If you attended the Gods Playing in the Clouds training with Bruce Frantzis last week, you will probably go through a funny, and at times frustrating, process in your practice in the coming weeks and months.

with Bruce Frantzis, lineage master and teacher of BTC teachers
This is Bruce Frantzis’ first visit to BTC in two years. To take full advantage of the time, knowledge of the basic six Gods movements is strongly recommended as a prerequisite. Here’s an approach to help make the most of working with a teacher of Bruce’s caliber.
