Push Hands (Two-Person Tai Chi)

The exercises that help you explore how to interact optimally with another person’s energy and physicality are referred to collectively as Push Hands. You can think of the Tai Chi form, which transformed into a meditative and healing process, as having its roots in this original interaction. These courses will explore a variety of Push Hands games and exercises, and other interactive processes that will enhance your understanding of the Tai Chi form and energetics, and which also happen to be healthy, empowering, and fun!

Tai Chi for Healthy Aging

Our Tai Chi for Healthy Aging course consists of simplified Tai Chi exercises adapted to the physical abilities of the group. The goal is for participants to interact with their peers and learn Tai Chi to improve balance and general physical functioning, decrease the fear of falling, reduce pain and achieve greater relaxation. The Tai Chi for Healthy Aging classes at Brookline Tai Chi are part of a larger program that we teach in surrounding senior centers, community centers, and assisted living facilities under a grant from the Tufts Health Plan Foundation.
