If we are starting a new seven week session, you can try out a class without committing to it during the first week introductory period. If the introductory period has ended for this session, you may study privately or take a weekend workshop. View our list of upcoming workshops and special events.

When can I start?
We begin new courses six times per year, usually at the beginning of the months in September, November, January, March, May, and July. You can usually join in the first three weeks depending on the course – contact us at email@example.com if you’re unsure. Can I sample a class first?
Yes, you can try a class in any of our courses anytime during the first week of any session. You don’t need to register ahead of time for a class that you’re sampling – if you decide to continue with the course after your sample class, you would then register online or in person.
If the course is labeled as “Intro”, you can just show up during one of its meeting times the first week to sample it. If it’s a more advanced course and you’re not sure that you meet the prerequisites, check in with our director beforehand to determine whether it would be a good fit for you.
How long do your courses last and what is the cost?
We teach courses in seven week sessions, and some courses are offered in weekend or one-day formats. Seven week sessions cost between $150 – $180. Workshops cost $35 – $210, depending on course and duration.
You can register online with a credit card or pay in check or cash in person at the school. When you enroll in one of our courses, you can come to any or all meetings each week (e.g. Short Form Intro meets Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, and Saturday. On any given week, you can come to one or more classes, or if you usually come Tuesday, but need to come Saturday instead, that is fine).
Course material builds week-by-week, so we recommend attending a minimum of one class per week.
We don’t have a drop-in option for beginner classes. Classes are structured this way to give you schedule flexibility and help you build a strong foundation.
What do I wear?
We recommend that you wear loose casual clothing that you feel you can move around comfortably in. In the warmer weather, you can wear socks, bare feet or clean shoes that you don’t wear outside.
In colder weather, socks or clean shoes are good. (We also sell cotton Tai Chi slippers here that many people like to practice in.)

We offer a generous and cumulative discount structure here at Brookline Tai Chi that includes Senior, Veteran, Student, Family, Disabled, and a discount for taking multiple courses. All of our discounts are listed here.
