Longevity Breathing
Introductory Breathing
Each week we will explore foundational postures that make up the basic set of poses. Additional time will be spent on “propping” to help make your practice comfortable.
Life Long Breathing
Learn to use your breath to help you live a longer and healthier life.
We'll help you relearn how to breathe naturally like a baby does, gently and deeply, with your belly, sides, and the whole of your back involved.
Practice of this method can help you increase your breathing capacity, and enable you to massage, tone, and strengthen your internal organs for greater vitality.
The gentle, effortless breaths you develop from this method can help soothe your nerves and quiet your mind. Such breathing can help you learn to fully feel and become present in your body.
You'll start to learn from a lying down position, and then practice while sitting, standing, moving, and talking.
In China, this breathing is thought to be especially helpful for those with asthma, high levels of stress, and heart or lung problems.
Longevity Breathing Yoga
Tao Yoga using the techniques of Long Life Breathing to connect the breath and the body, allowing you to feel and release tension from the inside out. Using simple postures with an emphasis on internal awareness, Tao yoga one releases to gradually open and stretch the body (think of the contrast to some other forms of yoga, where one stretches to get a release).
