Dear fellow students and friends of Brookline Tai Chi,
Winter at Brookline Tai Chi is always a place of inward gathering and reflection. Students and teachers alike can be found indoors standing in meditation, expanding into the cold through their warm jackets, and navigating icy walkways with careful balanced ease. For those of us on the BTC Board of Directors, this Winter has also been a season of progress and growth in directions crucial to the sustainability and health of the school we love. Over the past three months we have enjoyed excellent and robust curriculum additions such as Tai Chi 201, sold-out workshops from master teachers including Ken Van Sickle, launched our new updated website, gained a partnership with CareOne, increased our marketing to the Brookline community, and laid the foundation for successful Spring and Summer workshops and classes.
This first week of Spring, we are launching a fundraising campaign aimed at continuing and improving all aspects of the work already begun. Our campaign is focused on raising funds for the following five areas of growth: Technology Updates, Physical Space Updates, Faculty Merit Raises, Program Development, Student Scholarships.
Whether it is for new technology updates to help registration flow smoothly, a new heating system for next winter, because you have learned so much from your Long Form or qigong teacher, or because you want to affirm the excellent new programming curated by Don Ethan Miller, please consider donating generously to our campaign.
This year, we will have several levels of giving. Each level includes a special thank-you from us to you.
$5,000 – Private Workshop for the donor and friends of their choice
$2,500 – Private Lesson with any teacher in the school
$1,000 – Free workshop from any of our offerings.
$500 – Named donor
$250 – Energy Arts Curriculum DVD
$100 – BTC Spring Donor Shirt
$50 – BTC Canvas Grocery Tote
$25 – Personalized Tao Thank You
All levels 250 and above include a tote and a shirt.
Our goal to raise $15,000 by July 1st is achievable through your support and generosity. Keep your eyes out for fundraising challenges and events, and mark your calendars for Steven Cardoza’s fundraising performance and potluck at BTC on April 28th with his band, The Visitors.
